Character Guest Post with Chanel Leroc, the heroine from Ryan’s Temptation

Hey, everyone. I’m Chanel, and boy, do I have a story to tell.

My life was going okay even though I’d just broken up with my long-term boyfriend and moved into a new apartment. My ex took our beloved dog, Rocky, with him, and I was missing the dog more than I was my ex. Anyway, everything turned upside down when I saw this evil, demented man attacking a woman behind a dark restaurant. I know, I know—never veer off the main street alone at night. But what else could I do? I heard a woman cry out and scream for help. I had to do something. There wasn’t time to waste. So I stuck my nose where it didn’t belong and landed on a serial killer’s hit list.

Oh my God! Right? Even though it happened to me, I still can’t believe it sometimes. It sounds so preposterous. I’m just a normal woman with a decent job and a great set of friends. I didn’t think anything horrible like that would ever happen to me. Damn, I was so naïve, but I’m nothing if not a quick learner.

The police dumped me into a witness protection program with my sexy as sin new neighborhood, Dr. Ryan Naylor. Why did Ryan come along, you might ask? Well, he was my knight in shining white lab coat. Though, actually, he wasn’t wearing his lab coat that night since he was out of the office. I think he had on a blazer, but I digress. He found me fighting for my life, and Dipper—my attacker—didn’t want to take us both on, so he ran like a coward. Thank God for that. The police secreted Ryan and me away to a sleazy motel room where they promised we’d be safe, and we were until Dipper tracked us down. I won’t tell you how he did it—read our story to find out—but we had no choice but to flee into the night and survive on our own.

Even though I was scared out of my gourd, I found something special during my time with Ryan. We clicked in a way I’ve never before experienced with a man. He was sweet, understanding, funny, and the greatest kisser ever, by far. Ooh, and his cleft chin was to die for. Still is. I don’t know how I would’ve survived with my sanity intact without him by my side. He not only became my lover, but also my best friend. I don’t mean to sound like a sap, but I don’t regret our time on the run together. It made us stronger. We learned that we’ll do anything and everything to survive. Our lives and our love are worth it.
