This Dashboard page looks intimidating. I’m not sure just what to do next. If anybody’s waiting, be patient. I’m on my way. I think.

I’m one of those people who is as interesting as drying paint. No kidding. I married my high school boyfriend and am still married 49 years later. He’s the only guy I ever dated and the only man I’ve ever seen nekkid (at least in print.) I love writing and reading; I love history, biographies, and historical fiction, but also poetry and… oh, a little of everything else. I don’t tweet, twitter, or text but I do sometimes blather. I’m old but would like to be young, short (4’11”) and would like to be tall, jobless but would like to be idle rich instead of just idle. I’d like to be Angelina Jolie but have to settle for Pooh Bear. I love my family and friends and fans in particular, and people in general, except for the occasional pain-in-the-kiester who irritates me.
Looks like you know what your doing…
It’s an illusion. I just found out where the comments go. Nice to see you. Now I’m not talking to myself.
Since so far it’s just you and I, do you want to see an excerpt from Counterpoint? You alread know all about The Phoenix.
You know how to dangle the proverbial carrot don’t you. ; ) I have been chomping at the bit for Counterpoint since I finished The Phoenix. I would anxiously await any treats you may offer.
Should I be mean and say I changed my mind? lol My life wouldn’t be worth a plugged nickle around here, would it. Counterpoint would be in print from a mainstream publisher now if I hadn’t taken some bad advice! It was supposed to be one of the first two books out from Running Press, but I was persuaded not to sign the contract. Like a fool, I didn’t. I am waiting for a response from another mainstream publisher, but I’m not optimistic. I may just let Lethe Press publish it. They’re small but very nice to work with — which can’t be said of all publishers. OK, I’ll go dig up something from Counterpoint. I’ll be back in a flash.
And say, Megs, I may drop you an email making you an offer you can’t refuse, if it’s about time for your classes to be over for a while.
I don’t think I am going to get any work done today… I am sorry to hear about the trouble with publishing. I have a friend working on publishing a Childrens book and it has been hard for her as well. I can’t imagine why this mainstream publisher is dragging their feet… I am confident anything you submit should be immediately published!
And I don’t even have to know what your offer is – I accept.
Publishing is a weird world. I love Lethe Press, though. They are wonderful folks to work with. And I adored Sasha Alyson, whose Alyson Publications published my first book. But then he sold the company and those who bought it dumped the majority of the books he had done, including not only my book but a YA gay mystery series I was writing for him. That experience left me so miserable I self-published the first edition of The Phoenix. Spent lots and lots of money by blindly doing what I was told, and have made very little. But the beautiful new edition by Lethe is just dandy!
As for the offer re Counterpoint … oh, you’ll like it. Guaranteed. I’ll drop you an email and you can let me know when your classwork is finished.
I need balance so as far as the classwork goes – it can be worked in around your request.
OK. Watch for an email later today or tomorrow. After spending all day in here I’m going to have to soothe my grumpy husband after I close down here for the day.
