Faith at Work
Welcome back to my CoffeeTime blog day to celebrate the release of my second book entitled Soul Searcher available for sale this Friday! Don’t forget to check out this morning’s post for a great excerpt and another chance to win!
In Soul Searcher, the heroine is a bartender at a bar named Night Caps. She has to deal with all sorts of bad boys and shady characters but nothing could have prepared her for her newest customer. When the Devil himself stops by to have a chat…what will Faith have to say to him?
Contest #2: Grab a bite to eat during your lunch break and let Faith Harper pour you a cocktail if you don’t have to go back to the office this afternoon! Drink one for me while you’re at it (I’m 5 months pregnant)!
Then, tell me all about your worst day/night at work. Did you ever have to serve the Devil a drink? I hope not!
One participant will win, a shot glass and a goodie bag of snacks! Be sure to check back in tonight for the final contest and post of the day. Winners from all of today’s contests will appear on my blog (www.kerribookwriter.blogspot.com) on Friday!

I never had to serve a drink to the devil but as a cashier at a store I had to serve a devil at the register. He was not a happy person at all, he complained because he had to wait in line, then again because he felt the item he was buying cost too much and then to top it off,,his credit card would not work at first. Course this was all my fault you know. 🙄 🙄 🙄 You have to take the good with the bad but it dampens your mood for awhile. susan L.
Lunch sounds good..how about a tuna melt sandwich and fries? Iced tea to drink for now. susan L.
Hey Kerri!
Speaking of shots (or shot glasses), I could use a shot of caffeine right now! Straight up. 😯
I have the afternoon “sleepies,” which I bet you you have big time right now.
I used to work as a waitress/bus at a race track way back when I was in college (and the legal drinking age was 18). A really gross thing was when I’d have to pick up my tables at the end of the night, and there’d be chewed tobacca stuffed in glasses, beer cans, or wadded up in napkins left for me to clean. Along with cigarette ashes strewn about and beer sometimes spilled on table. Nothing like the smell of stale beer with wads of chewed tobacca floating in it.
Sorry, you probably have to rush off now to puke. Believe me, I felt like doing it a few times, and I wasn’t even pregnant.
Julie
Kerri,
Just wanted you to know I registered for your CHRW October class earlier today when I had a chance.
Gotta get back to work though.
Chat with you later,
Julie
Hello again ladies!
I’ve been both a cashier and a waitress during my lifetime so I can totally relate to both of your stories! Those were some of my worst jobs ever but I survived!
I found a few more of your comments stuck in a moderation/pending folder and I released them.
I don’t know why some are getting through and some are not. Totally weird.
Julie, thanks for registering for my October class. I saw that come through earlier. Looking forward to it very much.
Hugs to both of you for hanging in there with me!
xoxo,
K.

I have never worked as a cashier or a waitress but can acknowledge wroking with the public can be a trial. Would love to eat lunch but al I have on me right now is an apple. Bon Appetite.
Heading off for a bite of lunch right now. My worst day at work was the day they took us all into the back office. The boss started off by telling us how hard we’d all worked and how she really appreciated us… You could feel all our stomachs sinking through the floor. They were closing us down, and the good news was we got to spend six months training our replacements by internet.
I was a 3rd shift Cashier once.I liked the midnight shift ,but some of the crazies were out too. you always had to be on guard. I did see a coulpe Celebrities passing through, those were enjoyable memories! cause living in a very SMALL town you wouldn’t think any movie stars would know the town. 😆
