Hi, Bonnie, and bloggers!  I hope everyone is having a lovely Monday, (if that’s even possible.)  LOL!  I have my extra large coffee mug in hand, and am ready to blabber…err, blog away!

First, if you would like to learn a bit about me, click on the link to the right!  🙂

So, let’s see…Christmas, as usual, was an absolute blur.  I think anyone with kids understands this.  My husband and I were up until the wee hours, putting toys together for our son.  Of course, the kids then proceed to wake us up at 5am to open presents, and have ripped through most of them before the coffee is even done brewing. (Hence the blur)  :-)  My son did say it was, “The best Christmas, ever,” and my daughter loved her presents, so all in all, it was a good day!

Among my gifts were new workout shoes and an MP3 player, even though I asked for a laptop and an iPod.  {{shrug}}  I guess I was naughty!  LOL!  What did everyone else get?  Or not get?  Oh, that reminds me…one year, I put coal in my husband’s stocking!  You should have seen the look on my kids faces!  Priceless! If you have little ones, I highly suggest doing it.  Makes them extra good for the next year.  Well, at least for the month of December, anyway.  🙂

As far as the book writing goes, I currently have two releases releases available.  “Ember’s Desire” is a short story in the Blue Moon Magic anthology from Highland Press.  “Claiming the Lamb” is an erotic, paranormal novella, in the Jaded Beasts IV digest from Midnight Showcase.  I am running a contest on my website from now until the 31st of January.  I’ll be giving away a print copy of Jaded Beats IV, along with a bag of Ghiradelli chocolates to one lucky entrant!  Just go to:  www.meaganhatfield.com and visit my contest page for more information.

Current projects…

I’m very excited to be working on a ballet-themed romance anthology entitled, Dance en L’air, for Highland Press.  Though they’ve only been around for a year, they already have numerous award winning authors on board, including Leanne Burroughs, Deborah MacGillivray and Dawn Thompson, to name a few.

I also thrilled to announce, I just sold my fantasy romance novel, A Magical Encounter, to Mardi Gras Publishing! I do not have a release date yet, but will definitely update my website once I do, so check back for more information.  Here is a quick blurb:

Since his wife’s murder, nigh a century ago, Elfin warrior Hanarom Avindaul’s life has been an endless quest for peace.  One he feels is becoming more impracticable each day.  Still, he accepts a proposal of alliance with a band of men in a desperate attempt to decimate an evil clan known as dwellers, terrorizing both races.  Not long after beginning his journey through the forest to join them, he comes to the aid of an obstinate, yet disarming maiden.  He’s been fighting for others for so long he’d all but forgotten he had needs—until she enters his world.  While he quickly realizes this latest endeavor will be like no other set before him, never could he have foretold just how deeply the pain he senses within her, the first time he sets eyes on her, would haunt and consume his immortal soul.

Kaiya Galbraith had always known her father, the duke, harbored no love for her.  But she never fathomed him capable of covertly bartering her life away to a stranger, in return for coin to pay off his debtors.  Her dreams of love appeared lost forever.  Until she is rescued by a being she’s only ever seen in her dreams.  Kaiya finds herself reacting to this elf prince as if he uses magic on her.  Strong magic, that sends her heart aflutter at just a glance her way.  Not only is he handsome beyond description, but when an evil clan ambushes their camp in the dead of night, he plucks her from imminent death into the safe shelter of his arms…where she discovers she’s all too eager to stay.  When the flames of passion ignite between these forbidden lovers, will the bond they forge endure?  Or will her procurer’s horrendous plotting, and their insurmountable mortal differences prove too much for their magical love to withstand?
Also coming in 2007, is a contemporary erotic short story from Whiskey Creek Press Torrid, called The Whole Enchilada.
As always, to learn more about me or my books, visit my revamped website at www.meaganhatfield.com
Since I’ll be giving away a copy of Claiming the Lamb, I’ll post an excerpt of that tomorrow.  (Don’t worry, Bonnie…it won’t be a dirty excerpt!)  :-)
If you have any questions, comments, horrible Christmas stories, or Lord of the Rings questions, (yup, I’m one of those people – lol!) ask away!
Until next time…
