I can’t imagine having the technology to determine the sex of a baby for the sake of killing it.  I know how excited I was when I was pregnant, and I was one of those people who did NOT want to know.  I wanted the excitement and was so thrilled to have a boy and a girl.  Not at the same time, mind you, but it didn’t matter to me what sex they were – as long as they were healthy.

But it opens your eyes to other cultures – other people’s way of thinking.  You don’t have to live in another country to believe what they say – or to follow what they practice.  I think it’s beautiful that you and your husband have been happily married despite (which is a strong word, but you know what I mean) the fact it was arranged.

How about sharing an excerpt with us?  I would love to read a snippet or two.  Thanks, Shobhan – you have touched upon a controversial topic – especially with what we read in the news or see in movies.  We really take for granted a lot of the little things.
