Nancy Thayer was born and raised in Kansas. She has traveled the world but Nantucket is where she and her husband, Charley, call home. In 1980, Doubleday published her first novel, Stepping. With 19 novels published to date with Nancy hopes there will be many more to come. She is proud wife, mother and grandmother (and in my opinion, a wonderful author).

This is a story about relationships: parent to child, man to woman, or woman to woman. This family is complicated, but at the center of it all is Nona, the woman who keeps them all together. That can be said of many families. Ms. Thayer has brought the familiarities found in any family to the Wheelwrights. They are all so personable and real. With secrets, grudges and wounds, this is one family who at the end of the day loves each other and the woman who is the center of their universe. Closing the cover on this book hurt me a little. I felt like I had become a part of this mixed up family by the end. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did.
